NITTANY EPICUREAN 2020 VENTURI VINEYARD GRENACHE REVIEW

In 2020, we released the 2019 Prospecting Series Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a fantastic wine, but we produced so few cases that we managed to sell out before anyone could even notice the wine's existence, much less write about it in a blog.

This year, we were not going to make that mistake. We sent a sample to Michael Chelus of Nittany Epicurean.

We always appreciate Michael's straight-to-the-point descriptive writing (without fancy words that can obscure or confuse) and his excellent taste (after all, he has enjoyed our wine for a few years now). Here's what Michael had to say:

"The wine showed a light ruby color. Raspberry, cherry, currant, mossy earth, and whiffs of flint could all be found on the nose. Raspberry, cherry, currant, and blueberry offered a languid introduction to the tune of the palate followed by supple notes of licorice, flint, and oak. The wine was light-bodied and exhibited great length along with moderate tannins. This wine would be an ideal pair for smoked pork spareribs.

This wine* can be purchased for $26 directly from the winery's website.”

The last part is still true. Although we don’t have much, we still have the Venturi Grenache available for purchase.
